A Tribute to the USS Pueblo

 

On January 28, 2004 Commander Lloyd Mark "Pete" Bucher passed away. This Eternal Flame has been placed here in his memory and also for those who have passed away that had served with him on The U.S.S. Pueblo.

These men are certain to be in heaven, because they have already spent their time in hell.

 

On January 23, 1968 the lives of 83 men and their families were changed forever.

The USS Pueblo, a Naval Intelligence gathering ship, was captured off the coast of North Korea, and the crew was imprisoned for 11 months. Of the 83 crewmen, 82 were severely beaten and tortured. 1 of the crewmen did not survive the attack. Nothing in their training could have prepared these men for the horrors they would endure.
